I was so happy with Homeless, when they gave me a great gift idea for my Da. Thing is, they were selling the item for a bit and then I'd have to organize the shipping home. If you know me, you know I'm an awful post person. My snail mail takes forever to get where it needs to. I still have birthday presents ready to send in the mail since February. I knew if I got my Da that golf putter doorstop, it would be a massive fail. So I found it online.I think they have a real worry for people that troll only to shop elsewhere. In producing, foreign/Western companies get things like this product made in China and sell to buyers. The companies worry that without contractual agreements, the factory who has the molds, blueprints, etc., will sell directly to the buyers and the American company no longer has a customer. The tables have turned here, I f'd this local company over by buying direct from the maker online instead of going through them, the buyer.
Truly though, it wasn't about the 50 HKD cheaper, it was about the ease of shipping and checkout for me. Thanks find-me-a-gift.

I felt a bit bad about stealing their idea and spending my money elsewhere so I finally got the spoonholder I've been needing for my stovetop by Umbra. Actually, this time Homeless did well by me and it was cheaper than Umbra's website, by a whopping 15 HKD. It's pretty.
Ease of transactions and availability make it increasingly hard for companies and small businesses to compete. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens, how businesses stay open and how consumers benefit.
